Terms of service

outship.lol ("outship", "we") is operated by outship. These terms cover your use of the outship website and any connection you make between outship and a hosting provider such as Vercel.

By connecting an account or using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not connect an account.

You must be old enough to enter a contract in your country, and you must have the right to connect any hosting account you connect. Do not connect an account that belongs to someone else or to an employer who has not authorised it.

One person, one account. Creating multiple accounts to inflate a ranking is a breach of these terms.

You are responsible for anything done through your account.

Connecting Vercel grants outship read-only access to deployment metadata through Vercel's official integration. We request the narrowest scopes Vercel offers, and our API client is restricted by an explicit allowlist to the user, projects and deployments endpoints only.

The access token we receive may technically permit more than we use. We do not use it for anything beyond what is described in section 4, and the allowlist enforces this in code rather than by policy alone.

You can revoke access at any time from your Vercel dashboard or by disconnecting on outship. Revoking deletes your outship record — see section 4.

Your ship score is computed from four inputs: production deployment volume, consecutive-day shipping streak, number of projects live on a production domain, and rolling 30-day uptime of those domains. Scores are recomputed periodically and nothing is self-reported.

We store: your provider username and display name, your project names and their production URLs, and one row per deployment containing its identifier, commit hash, target, build status and timestamp. We store your access token encrypted at rest.

We never read or store your source code, environment variables, build logs, secrets, or your customers' data.

We check that your production URLs respond, in order to measure uptime and confirm a project is live. This means we make ordinary public HTTP requests to your live sites.

When you disconnect or revoke access, your account and everything linked to it is permanently deleted. This is a hard delete, not a flag.

outship is a public leaderboard. Once you connect, your provider username, ship score, rank, and the four component figures above are visible to anyone. Your project names may also be shown on your profile.

Connecting an account is your consent to this publication. If you do not want to be listed publicly, do not connect, or use private mode where available, or disconnect.

You may request removal at any time by disconnecting or by writing to us. We will action removal requests promptly.

The ideas board lets you post suggestions, vote, and indicate an amount you would pay for a feature. Pledges are indications of interest only. They are never charged, create no obligation on you, and create no commitment from us to build anything.

You keep ownership of ideas you submit. By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display the submission on outship and to build what it describes without owing you compensation.

Do not post anything unlawful, abusive, or that you do not have the right to share. We may remove submissions at our discretion.

outship measures shipping. Manufacturing deployments purely to raise a score is a breach of these terms. This includes automated empty commits, scripted redeploys of unchanged code, and duplicate or sock-puppet accounts.

We apply automated controls, including deduplicating deployments by commit hash and capping how many deployments count per project and per day. Deployments that do not count are recorded with a reason.

Where we find deliberate manipulation we may reset a score, exclude an account from the rankings, or remove it entirely.

outship is provided as is and as available. It is an early product; it may be unavailable, may lose data, and may change without notice.

Scoring rules can and will be revised as the product develops. Rankings are a matter of our editorial judgement and carry no guarantee of accuracy, fairness, or fitness for any purpose. Do not rely on an outship score for hiring, assessment, or any decision that materially affects someone.

We may change these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the last-updated date at the top of this page.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost data, or loss arising from your ranking or its absence. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

You may stop using outship and delete your record at any time by disconnecting. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, and we may discontinue the service.

On termination your data is deleted as described in section 4.

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections available to you locally.
